Nvidia plans to begin mass production of a cost-reduced Blackwell AI processor tailored for China in June, according to sources familiar with the matter. The chip will be priced between $6,500 and $8,000—a significant discount to the restricted H20 model’s $10,000-$12,000 range—reflecting both scaled-back specifications and simplified manufacturing processes.

The China-specific variant will reportedly leverage Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D architecture and conventional GDDR7 memory, sidestepping more advanced components affected by US trade barriers. This strategic adaptation underscores the semiconductor giant’s efforts to maintain its dominant position in the world’s largest AI market despite geopolitical constraints.
